Beginning on July 1, 2016, rising second-year law students (2Ls) can gain full access to OSCAR. Applicants will be able to register for an account, upload documents, identify recommenders, search for positions, and submit/finalize applications without any restrictions. Previously, rising 2Ls were allowed to register for OSCAR accounts on June 1 but were not permitted to create and submit online applications until August 1.

This change in policy comes as a result of decisions made at the recent OSCAR Working Group meeting. The Working Group, which includes judges and law school representatives, determined that it would best serve the interests of clerkship applicants to have a single date for full system access. Additional information from the OSCAR Working Group meeting will be available in the next couple of weeks.

If you would like more information or have any other OSCAR questions, post a comment on this blog or use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
