To encourage minority participation in federal clerkships, Just the Beginning - A Pipeline Organization is working with federal judges to offer an opportunity for six federal district court clerkships and one magistrate court clerkship for the 2019-2020 term. Applications will be accepted in OSCAR.

Rising third-year law school students and law school graduates of all backgrounds are invited to apply to the "Share the Wealth" Judicial Law Clerk Program, a referral program run by judges. Participating judges will conduct panel interviews for students who are selected in Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday, August 25, 2018. The deadline to apply to all positions is Saturday, July 21, 2018 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time).

The participating judges are:

• Senior District Judge Ivan Lemelle (Louisiana Eastern District Court; New Orleans, LA)
• District Judge Raymond Jackson (Virginia Eastern District Court; Norfolk, VA)
• District Judge Linda Parker (Michigan Eastern District Court; Flint, MI)
• District Judge Benita Pearson (Ohio Northern District Court; Youngstown, OH)
• Senior District Judge Margaret Seymour (South Carolina District Court; Charleston, SC)
• District Judge Tanya Pratt (Indiana Southern District Court; Indianapolis, IN)
• Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis (Virginia Eastern District Court; Alexandria, VA)

To apply in OSCAR:

  1. Log into your OSCAR account.
  2. Click the My Profile tab.
  3. Click Edit Profile.
  4. Scroll down to the Professional Organization section at the bottom of your profile.
  5. Type "Just the Beginning" into the Organizations box.
  6. Click Update Profile and proceed with applying to the positions of your choice in OSCAR.
