In OSCAR, the process of requesting, writing, and submitting letters of recommendation is handled entirely online. When an applicant applies to a position, it generates a recommendation request that is sent to the recommender's account. The recommender then creates and uploads an electronic document, and OSCAR sends it to the judge or staff attorney office as part of the application.

As a law school administrator, you can fill requests for recommendation letters on behalf of faculty recommenders in OSCAR.

Fill Recommendation Requests

  1. Log in to your OSCAR law school administrator account.
  2. On the Applicants Tab, select the Applicants List.
  3. Scroll down to locate the applicant requiring the letter of recommendation and click the View this item icon to the left of the applicant's name.
  4. Click the Pending Recommendations tab. Pending recommendations will be categorized in two sub-tabs for Clerkship or Staff Attorney positions.
  5. Click the Edit this item icon to the left of the Recommender name.
  6. Proceed with submitting the recommendation by either using the online editor or uploading a PDF file.
