On March 31st, as the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to significantly impact our daily personal, professional, and academic lives, the Director of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts issued a memo to all federal judges encouraging flexibility when conducting interviews for law clerk positions during this time.

The Federal Judiciary commonly provides several tools to judges and chambers staff to conduct video conference calls. These two tools are Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. As many courts are transitioning from Skype to Microsoft Teams, either tool may be used when a judge schedules an interview with you for a clerkship position you have applied for.

Below are two links from Microsoft that may assist you when you get a request from a judge or a member of their staff for a virtual interview. These links and these pages are not endorsed by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AO), nor is the AO responsible for any content on these pages.

For additional assistance with interviewing remotely, please contact your career services office.
